September 23, 2025— Century Bancorp, Inc., and its wholly owned subsidiary Century Bank and Trust, are excited to announce they have entered into an agreement to acquire Wrightsville Bancshares, Inc., and its wholly owned subsidiary Bank of Wrightsville, a trusted community bank with deep roots in Johnson County and a proud history of serving local families and businesses.

Founded in 1897, Bank of Wrightsville has faithfully served customers in Wrightsville and surrounding areas with hometown service and local decision-making. That tradition will continue—customers will still see the same friendly faces they know and trust, supported by the expanded resources of Century Bank and Trust.

The agreement has been unanimously approved by both boards of directors and is expected to close in late 2025 or early 2026 subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
