Century Donates to Friends of Milledgeville Police Foundation

Century Bank & Trust has announced a $25,000 donation to the Friends of Milledgeville Police Foundation, Inc. through Georgia’s new Qualified Law Enforcement Donation Tax Credit program. This legislation allows individuals and businesses to directly support law enforcement foundations, like the Milledgeville Police Department’s, while receiving a state tax credit for their contributions.
The donation will help enhance public safety efforts and provide resources that strengthen the department’s ability to serve and protect the Milledgeville community.
“This generous contribution from Century Bank & Trust is a tremendous investment in the safety of our citizens and the wellbeing of our officers,” said Dray Swicord, Chief of the Milledgeville Police Department. “The support of community partners like Century makes it possible for us to provide resources and programs that go beyond our normal operating budget, ultimately helping us better serve Milledgeville.”
“As a community bank, we are deeply invested in the safety and vitality of Milledgeville,” said Derek Williams, President and CEO of Century Bank & Trust. “This new program gives us an opportunity to directly support the men and women who protect our community every day, and we are honored to contribute to the Friends of Milledgeville Police Foundation.”
About the Qualified Law Enforcement Donation Tax Credit
The Qualified Law Enforcement Donation Tax Credit, enacted under Georgia law in 2023, gives individuals and businesses the ability to contribute directly to local law enforcement foundations—such as the Friends of MPD Foundation—and receive a state tax credit in return. The program is intended to supplement public safety resources, bolster transparency and trust, and encourage civic investment in policing innovations and community policing efforts.
